We have three boys, they were aged 10, 8 and 7 at the time. It had been raining for about 2 weeks, and we had just moved into a new home in a cul-de-sac, in a newly developed housing area.
The boys asked if they could ride their bikes. We agreed, but they had to stay on the bitumen, they were not allowed to go into the bush. We explained that it could be easy for them to get lost. They promised that they would only ride on the bitumen.
They were gone about 15 minutes, when they came running inside, as white as sheets, and having trouble speaking. Eventually, one of them managed to say “We saw this… this…big thing”.
Finally we found out, that they had gone to the edge of the marshland, and went down a track. They said that they had stopped because it was so quiet, there were no noises. And they saw “A really big man, wearing like a gorilla suit. It was a brownish-orange colour.”
They had dropped their bikes, and started running back home. They said it smelt bad. One of them said “ It was as high as the ceiling, honestly we’re not lying”. The ceiling in our house is 8 foot high.
We went in the car to get their bikes, but they did not want to go up the track. They weren’t wanting to see anything again.
