Hi Dean,

I am currently trying to get the exact date from my brother as I am unsure of it myself. However, at that time I had arranged to meet my brother at the entrance road to the Yarrangobilly Caves in the Kosciusko National Park.

It was dark when I arrived and my brother had not turned up yet. I parked my car at the side of the road and lit two kerosene lanterns, placing one in the front of the car and the other at the rear. I waited outside the car and looked up the road for the approaching headlights of my brothers car which was coming from Wagga Wagga through Tumut.

After around 30 minutes I heard what sounded like a large animal of some kind approaching from the opposite side of the road. It sounded huge by the crashing noises it was making and seemed to have no problems negotiating through the very dark forested area.

I first assumed it was a large Kangaroo or Deer. I listened closely to it for a while, preparing to dive into my car just in case it was a wild Deer or something of that nature, but found it unusual in the fact that it sounded like a two legged animal rather that a four legged one by the way it was walking.

The crashing noises suddenly stopped and I continued to watch out for my brothers approach. Suddenly, from out of the dark and directly behind my vehicle I heard a blood curdling, terrifying scream which froze me on the spot.

Whatever was screaming at me was very close and very big. I immediately dove into my car absolutely terrified and locked all the doors, turned on all the cars lights including my torch and waited for around five minutes whilst trying to see what ever it was out there. I could see nothing at all, so I got out of my car and scanned the immediate area with my torch. I could hear the crashing noises again, this time from the left side of the road and moving away.

The beast was still screaming at intervals and clearly sounded like it was walking on two legs and not four as one would expect. I have never heard that scream from any Australian animal before or since and I have spent many nights camping in the Australian bush.

As a consequence I can only assume that it was a Yowie I heard that night.

I was recently listening to a broadcast on the Internet via www.rense.com where an American Bigfoot Research Team was relayed live onto the show from the scene of a Bigfoot hunt. A recording of a Bigfoot was being broadcast via loud hailer into the forest in an attempt to attract the Bigfoot. The recording was said to be a genuine Bigfoot scream.

It sounded exactly like the sound I heard on that day in the Forests of Yarrangobilly and caused shivers to run down my back.
