Location: Grenfell, New South Wales
Event: Yowie Sighting
Date: 2013
Time: 1pm
Witness: J. M.
Myself and my wife were coming towards Grenfell through the back way from Werris Creek. It was a bright sunny day.
We came up over the crest of the hill and it was on the left hand side of the road. It was in between two tall trees. It was huge, first I thought it big black pig, and then we thought it was a cow, but cows don’t stand up on two legs, turn around and run away.
At first it looked like it was crouching and as we got closer, it stood up, then turned away to the left and ran off back into the bush.
Most of the tress there are gum trees and they are a grey/white, so this big black things really stood out like a sore thumb.
I’d say it would have been 6ft plus. It was big and black. It moved like a person would if they turned and walked away. It was very solid. It was huge. I’ve spent my entire life out in the bush. A full grown Angus Cow can be as big as me, that’s why I first thought it was a cow, I mean what else could it be, but when it stood up it was double in size and had the shape of a very big person. It was fast when it ran away.
