I was returning some DVD’s early on the Monday morning before work. The DVD shop is around the back of the main shopping centre. There’s a parking lot in front of the Video Ezy store, so I stopped, turned the lights off and dropped the Videos off. When I got back in the car and turned the headlights back on, here was this ‘thing’ walking straight at me. I froze, and it froze light a deer in the headlights before taking off back into the scrub on the other side of the road. He had come up out of a grass slope and looked like it had slipped and got back up.
That part of the bush is fairly manicured, like the council regularly mows it. It was about 6 metres away when I saw it.
I was looking at a large man but with a pronounced forehead, pronounced looking jaw, forward looking eyes, about the same colour of a dark coloured horse. It had hair all across the shoulders, not so much on the chest, dark skin and it was big. Easy six and a half feet tall and solid. It would have been an easy 140-150kgs. It had deep contours on the face. The forehead was much larger than a Human; almost mongoloid. Large jaw, no neck, large shoulders. He head looked a bit smaller for the body size. Arms were long, probably down to its knees. He had a blank expression, it didn’t blink, kind of a glazed look like a rabbit in a spotlight.
It had a Simian look about it, definitely ape-like. Probably because it had no neck and the way it was walking or ambled away from the car and it had the large forehead and jaw, and a flat nose. The skin on its face was a chocolate brown colour, almost leather tanned.
It was looking at the car and turned and moved away. He kind of ambled off. He didn’t look overly afraid or in any hurry.
