It happened about 10 kilometres out of Dorrigo, just near Johnsons Road. It’s pretty dense bush land with plenty of rivers.

I had dropped a friend off at her house and was heading back along a straight road that was quite hilly, but you could see a good 200 - 300 metres ahead. At the end of the straight I could see these really yellow eyes. It was a full moon, so the silhouette of it was quite visible. It was standing upright and would have been about 9 – 10ft tall. It was tall.

I would have done about 20 metres and it ran from one side of the road to the other and into a paddock. He was quicker than Usain Bolt, he was moving. You could see into the cutting where it ran into. As I drove passed, I could see it. It was jet black, the hairiest back I’ve seen, it was hunched over and its arms were hanging quite low. It was still standing a good 6 – 7ft being hunched over. And the eyes on it, that’s what caught my attention, they were like something I’ve never seen. They were like two little suns.

As I drove passed, it was just standing under these three trees. I was looking at it and it was looking at me. It had definitely seen me and was making sure I was not stopping.

I feel really uneasy after. My skin felt cold, but hot. I felt panicky. I just wanted to get out of there.

When I first saw it, it was standing up on the right side of the road in a paddock. We went back the next day and we found the impressions of these really big footprints in the grass of exactly where it ran from one side to the other. Because the grass is all dead, you can see them pretty well. The tracks line up perfectly on both sides of the road, like that path is used a bit. It’s not somewhere that you can stop your car, so you have to park further down and walk back.

It pumped across the road, it was really quick from right to left. When I passed it, it was just looking at me making sure I was not stopping. It made eye contact. It should have seen me coming from quite a while away. It knew I was coming and it didn’t mind, obviously. By the time I went passed, it could have gone a lot further, but didn’t. It stayed there to look at me. It was about 20 metres off the road. I could pretty much see every part of it, as it was standing beside the trees.

It was hunched over, very black, black as the ace of spades, hairy, the torso and arms were really long, big chest and really yellow eyes. The yellowest eyes you’ve ever seen – it was crazy. They were almost devilish.

The hair was rough and matted. He was massive. I couldn’t really see his face, just those eyes.

I guess you could say it was like an ape, but not, because it was upright and just too tall.

It was really hairy on the back, but not as much on the front. He was solid, quite wide across the shoulders. Big and tall. As soon as I made eye contact with it and saw those yellow eyes, my skin felt cold but hot. It was a weird feeling. It was an uneasy feeling. It ran from the right to the left into the paddock and when I went passed it, it was just hunched over with really long arms looking at me. Its head was in proportion with its body, but it didn’t seem to have a neck, it was more like head to shoulders.

I was reading on your Website about other Sightings around the Dorrigo area and they fit my description perfectly.

I’m not sure if there’s any connection, but about 3 or 4 days before, we saw a Panther. It was only about 1 kilometre from where I saw the Yowie. Again it went from right to left and straight across the front of the car ahead of us. We both saw it.
