Location: Bellthorpe, Queensland
Event: Yowie Sighting
Date: April, 2016
Time: 4.30pm
It was about 4.30 to 5pm in the afternoon, the sun was starting to get a bit lower and we were starting to head back. We were up there doing a bit of photography of Deer because we do a bit of hunting on my friend’s property, which crosses into National Park.
We hadn’t seen anything, so we had put the camera away and were coming back along the ‘Postmans Track’ that comes back onto his place, and we could see something about 40-50 metres ahead of us crouching down next to a tree. We could just see the back of it, and as we got closer it just stood up and it was about 8-1/2 to 9ft tall. It had a really heavy build which would have been twice my width across the shoulders, probably about 3ft across. The arms we long. It was hunched over and the colour was a blackish-brown, and it disappeared as quickly as we had seen it.
My friend started backing off, but I walked down further to have a better look. Because of the type of ground, there were no actual foot prints, but you could see where the grass had been pushed down. We saw a lot of trees about an inch or an inch and a half that had been pushed over.
It certainly gave the area a whole new vibe!
